Sopore, Oct 24 (KNO): The Wular Smash Volleyball Cup 2025 concluded on a high note at Sheikh-ul-Aalam Ground, Tarzoo in Sopore, with Spiker Punch Seer emerging as the champion after defeating Jahama Volleyball Club in a thrilling final. The tournament, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), held under the banner My Youth, My Pride in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, was the first-ever volleyball event in Sopore played on a synthetic turf. The final match witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as hundreds of spectators cheered for their favourite teams. Both sides displayed exceptional skill and teamwork before Spiker Punch Seer sealed the victory in the closing moments. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. Raina, who presided as the chief guest, congratulated the winners and appreciated the organisers for their efforts in promoting sports at the grassroots level. Divisional Sports Officer J&K Sports Council, Javid-ur-Rehman, attended as the guest of honour, while Tehsildar Sopore and other dignitaries also participated in the ceremony. Chief organiser Ishfaq Ahmad Dar thanked the Sports Council and district administration for their constant support, saying the tournament was not just a competition but a mission to unite and uplift youth through sports. The event featured 16 teams from across north Kashmir, with matches drawing large crowds every evening—(KNO)
